Hikaru, what . . . What kind of game is this?

SUP I am calling on you guys to help me and my shoddy memory for stuff that happened a year or whatever ago. If you knew Kaoru (or Hikaru, WHICHEVER) during his first run in camp then comment here to remind me of the main points. I remember major relationships! Like hating Shigure and abusing Akiha and stuff, but more passing stuff I blank on. And Kaoru wouldn't. So! Refresh me plz.

SO YOU WANNA GET MATCHMADE. Well we twins are weekend warriors since we typically set aside a whole day for a post, so an OOC post for this is the best option. Also we'll be ignoring the hair parting rule a little more. They state they change their hair a lot in canon to keep people guessing, and this has nothing to do with wanting more range of expression. Really.

Okay! This is kinda late in coming 'cause we didn't think ahead to think it'd be a problem, but it's important! Also it's important to note that we aren't really angry at anyone -- we've just realized that this is something that should have been addressed. D: DO NOT WORRY. Anyway. Essayage.

Now, the Hitachiins are identical twins. Perfectly alike in nearly every way physically. In canon Haruhi is the only person the twins have ever met who can consistently tell them apart. Even Tamaki in all his brilliant perceptiveness mixes them up rather regularly. And it's not only the girls who visit the host club make this mistake -- it is everyone they have come across in their lives. Maids, staff, teachers, male students, various adults, etc. Their tendency to play up the confusion in telling them apart extends all the way into young childhood, so chances are even their own relatives mix(ed) them up often enough for them to take note of it. Haruhi is the first to have no problems telling them apart regardless of any and all efforts to confuse her.

But this really is not an attempt to say 'omg u kant tell them apart n00bs :(' so much as it is important to read and take note of the effects that being able to differentiate between the twins can have. It is not a free card to make them like you and can give them very negative views of a person depending on the situation. Basically, telling the twins apart is an automatic step into their world, and more importantly, it's something outside of their control. They can't step back and force someone out once they play that card effectively -- they have to deal with it whether they like it or not. It can be a welcome change, or it can be more like a hostile invasion that puts them on the defensive. Either way it really does cause a drastic and sudden change in their view of a person and it is not something that should be thrown out lightly. It is a Very Big Thing for them.

SO. If anyone does have a burning need to be able to tell the twins apart, keeping all this in mind, comment here so we can figure things out.
